Other than variations of working crazy hours (which I think is both higher impact and better signal of altruism than donations, at least within the movement), the other actions you suggest don’t seem like very legible signals of people acting morally in a demanding way. So this weakens their value as a signal for altruism, though they may still be object-level great things to do, or good signaling for other reasons.
