Ibuprofen is cheap. You can order 1,000 tablets online in Nigeria for $16. [...] As a result we estimate that the cost-effectiveness is 4.6 times GiveDirectly.
Looking at a couple of Nigerian online pharmacies (here, here), I see non-discount prices for Ibuprofen 400mg of 450 naira for 10 (I think) pills and 350 naira for 10 pills (generic brands, I think). At current exchange rates, 400 naira is $1.03, meaning 1,000 tablets would cost $103 excluding shipping, 6x your number. But maybe you can get them more cheaply buying in bulk?
I can tell you the exact cost of ibuprofen 200mg here in Uganda right now is about 8.50 for 1000 tablets, and it will be very similar in Nigeria, so the price may even be cheaper than the hli estimate. I have big questions about the morphine office though which I will reply to later.
Nice work!

Thanks! I guess the difference comes from buying in bulk, then.
