I really like these suggestions. One thing I didnāt see, which can be really helpful on the recipient side: Be ready to respond with a āpre-response responseā.
For example, when I do editing for EA Forum posts, rather than let something sit until Iām ready to read through it, I might respond to the sender saying something like: āI expect to get to this by Friday. If you donāt have an email from me by then, youāre welcome to follow up and bother me about it.ā
This lets the other person know Iāve seen their message and plan to respond. I might also say, if Iām really crunched for time/āprioritization: āI donāt know whether Iāll have time to get to this at all; if you donāt hear from me, Iād recommend Xā, where X might be āemailing someone elseā, āreading an articleā, āposting your piece as-isā, etc.
