This is helpful, thanks! A few thoughts on nomenclature:
while risk convergence is a well-established phrase, I don’t love the term ‘political convergence’. To me, ‘political convergence’ connotes a merging of political systems or transformation where disparate systems begin to look like each other. Googling the term suggests this interpretation might be already entrenched, as seen here. Maybe different nomenclature would be better?
for an alternative, I initially thought maybe direct/indirect, but that may be too abstract and undefined. A more promising candidate may be distinguishing AI/Bio effects on ‘capabilities’ from AI/Bio effects on ‘intentions’ - this could align nicely with Jaime Yassif’s typology for strategies to reduce GCBRs.
Hi Ben, that’s very helpful! It is hard finding a category scheme that captures the distinction perfectly. One scheme Ive been debating since I read your comment is “convergence by technology” and “convergence by risk environment”. It has its issues, but in my mind it gets closest to what I am trying to capture in the term(s). Very interested in more suggestions/further thoughts!

What do you think?
