Introducing the EA Public Interest Technologists Slack community

Hi all! I’m excited to announce a new Slack community space for folks interested in effective altruism and public interest technology!

Public interest technology is a field that combines expertise in technology, especially computing, with the common good. Public interest tech can be divided into two approaches:

The application of computing and related technologies to serve the common good.
Applying knowledge of computing and related technologies to public policy.

Public interest tech includes a variety of roles that involve applying knowledge of computing and related technologies to the common good, such as software developers, data scientists, product designers, product managers, policymakers, researchers, and journalists.
