Update: I tried taking curcumin supplements to boost my general health, and after taking them for some weeks, I began to notice that I didn’t get low back pain even when I did things that usually triggered it. This was much to my surprise, since I didn’t expect the supplements to have any effect on my back. Where before I needed to be careful not to do things that would give me low back pain, I now feel like I would have to make an active effort to make the pain come back. So it feels like a really big difference.
This is anecdotal, of course, but it turns out that positive effects of curcumin on low back pain are also supported by medicalstudies.
So it might be worth trying if you’re dealing with low back pain. (If you do, note that it may take weeks for the full effects to kick in.)
