We also recommend watching this video for a (slightly outdated) sense of what it’s like working at AIM. If you’re not looking for a role currently, please think about one person you know who might be interested in one of these roles and share this opportunity with them. You can refer candidates you would like to recommend to us for any of these roles through this link.
We’ll be hosting a series of webinars to answer questions about each of the roles, each hosted by a team member with direct experience of the role advertised:

Tuesday, 15th October, 5pm BST—Communications Manager Q&A with Ben Williamson, Director of Recruitment
Wednesday 16th October, 3pm BST—Charity Entrepreneurship Program Manager Q&A with Samantha Kagel, Chief Programs Officer
Thursday 17th October, 4pm BST—Philanthropic Programs Director Q&A with Will Troy, Grantmaking Program Director
Why work at AIM?
In short, to play an influential role within a close-knit team, delivering multiple programs and producing significant, measurable impact on some of the world’s most significant problems.
Our flagship Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program has launched over 40 charities, providing talented founders with evidence-based intervention ideas, ongoing mentorship, and seed funding. Together, these charities are estimated to improve the lives of more than 35 million people and 1 billion animals worldwide.
AIM’s work is growing. In 2022, we piloted and built out our AIM Impactful Grantmaking Program, helping funders set up their grantmaking for maximum impact and coordinate in cause area-specific funding circles for early and mid-size charities. In 2023, we started running our AIM Research Training Program to upskill nonprofit researchers and create research outputs to be used in our other programs.
In 2025, we will run our AIM Founding to Give Program for the first time, helping talented founders start high-growth businesses that can direct some of their profits to funding high-impact work.
Each role in a nutshell
Charity Entrepreneurship Program Manager
Our prior Program Manager has moved up to the role of Chief Programs Officer on our executive team. As such, we are looking for a deeply impact-motivated Program Manager to run our flagship Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program.
In this role, you will train, advise, and pair exceptional potential founders through a twice-annual, two-month training program. This culminates in supporting the founders through a seed fundraising round and the launch of new charities, delivering exceptionally cost-effective programs at scale across global development.
Philanthropic Programs Director
To run the next rounds of our 2½-years old Grantmaking Training program, we are looking for a Philanthropic Programs Director to continue finding, training, and advising funders in setting up their grantmaking for maximum impact. In addition, you will provide strategic oversight and guidance to the funders in our five funding circles, collectively distributing $5-10 million annually.
We are looking for a talented operations manager who will enable us to keep running operations for AIM itself. This could include human resource management, finance, team productivity improvements and managing the community office workspace, as well as providing support to our incubated high-impact charities, both with their initial set-up and on an ongoing ad hoc basis.
Communication & Marketing Manager
We are looking for a talented Communication and Marketing Manager to join our Recruitment team to increase the quality of AIM’s communication, and our identification of exceptional talent to join our high-impact training programs. In this role, you will create, execute, and evaluate multi-channel marketing and communications strategies and continuously evaluate and improve them for the next iteration.
A final note
We encourage potential applicants with questions about the role or application process to attend our Q&A webinars. For questions relating to specific or unique circumstances, please email us.
The initial application deadline for these roles has been extended until November 3rd (next Sunday). If you’re interested in any of the positions and on the fence about applying, please reach out. I’d love to understand why and answer any questions you may have.
