1. Summary
We are running a ten-day bootcamp to provide advanced training in deep learning to those who want to work towards making AI safe and beneficial to humanity.
This camp will fast-track your deep learning skills, inform you about AI safety research, introduce AI’s risks and challenges, and connect you with like-minded individuals for potential friendship and collaboration.
The bootcamp will take place from August 24th to September 3rd in Germany. The application deadline is June 30, 2023 at 11:59 PM GMT+2 and we aim to get back to everyone by July 3rd.
We aim this camp at people with some coding experience who hope to improve machine learning skills to work on AI Safety. Motivation is more important than relevant experience or background knowledge—if you are unsure whether your background knowledge is sufficient, please apply! We are happy to provide material for you to learn before the camp.
2. Curriculum
The first part of the camp (7 days) aims to provide advanced deep learning training, including projects like implementing ResNet from scratch.
The second part of the camp (3 days) is focused on the current AI safety literature with projects on topics like the interpretability of language models and the adversarial robustness of neural networks.
3. Logistics
The camp will take place at a hired venue in Germany. There will be outdoor and evening activities—and time to rest. The bootcamp is free—there is no fee for room, board, or tuition. We ask participants to pay for their travel costs—however, if this is preventing you from attending, please let us know and we will make sure to cover it.
