I’ve realized recently that therapy could potentially help me a lot, but I can’t afford it. Worst case scenario, I don’t see any improvements. Best case scenario, I’m much more productive and multiply my impact. Do you think it would be possible to get funded for therapy?
[Question] Can you apply for funding to get therapy?

If you are saying that you would be more effective at working on EA causes if you received therapy, enough to justify the cost, you should potentially reach out the CEA community health—there are people working on mental health issues for community members, and this could be in scope. I know that if someone who was being funded by a grantor to do important work asked for additional funding to pay for therapy, it would be considered, and in some cases approved—and I know of at least one such case. In general, however, it seems more likely that they would ask for additional income in a grant directly, and say that it would enable them to be more effective, then pay for therapy themselves. You should also check, if you are in the US, whether you need help figuring out if your insurance covers this, or how to navigate the system.
On the other hand, if you think that the personal benefit of therapy would help you in general, but do not have the funds to pay for it, or that you would prefer someone else paying for it, that’s going to be on you, and you shouldn’t bother anyone about it.
