After a lot of feedback that our former name “Fake Meat—Real Talk” is ambiguous, we decided to “rebrand” to “Food for Thought”.
Food for Thought is a series of events, where we discuss philosophical and practical questions of EA in small groups over food and drinks: We are exploring effective altruism one bite at a time. EA newcomers are welcome; studying the suggested material is encouraged but not required, please RSVP.
Topic
This time around, we want to discuss the topic of Measuring Good: Measuring the impact of interventions and being able to compare the “good” that possible interventions can do, is at the core of EA. Here, we want to discuss different ways to measure and quantify good and the assumptions and methods behind the different metrics and data points.

Measuring Good Better, a transcript of the session from EA Global 2022. Here, four organizations (Give Well, Open Philanthropy, Happier Lives Institute, Founders Pledge and Innovations for Poverty Action) describe their respective methods of measuring good.
For anyone who wants to dive more deeply into the topic, we recommend the links in the article that link to detailed descriptions of the methods.
