I do worry that the sense for what does and doesn’t matter for reputation, or how much it an action costs, might be miscalibrated? Arguably a lot of damage was done when AI policy and lab people consistently downplayed and softened their view that AI could kill everyone when it came to talking to the investors, government officials, or the public.
