CGIAR was key to the Green Revolution, which is (imo) the greatest philanthropic achievement of all time. I understand that their more recent efforts have been considerably less successful, for reasons I don’t fully understand, but certainly they deserve more attention.

Do you know if other CGIAR centers contributed significantly to the Green Revolution or if it was only CIMMYT? I do not.
There were a bunch, most prominently IRRI in the Philippines—Table 1 in this paper lists all of them.
