An A.I. Safety Presentation at RIT

How do you get people into AI safety, alignment, and even DontKillEveryoneism?

Well, we at the Effective Altruism Club at RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) (NY, USA) decided to take a crack at it.

We gave a presentation to the university’s AI Club, with around 2-3 dozen people in the audience. The talk covers the basic arguments behind AI safety, responses to common objections, and resources for people to learn more.

The talk can be watched here.

Mica White is the current President of the EA Club at RIT. Nicholas Kross is an alumni who was formerly on the club’s e-board.

Hopefully this will be a decent resource for others to use, but we’re especially looking for feedback and discussion of how these sorts of presentations can be done better.
