Meat consumption in the EU is reported to be declining! (La UE prevé menos consumo de vacuno y porcino y más pollo).
There is a problem in that chicken consumption is expected to slightly increase, which may increase overall farmed animal populations due to the small body problem. However, I believe this is overall good news because it shows that peak meat is attainable and that citizens are capable of slowly shifting their diets. I’m hoping to see more news like this in other regions in the next few years.

While I believe that I would still be working in non-profits and NGOs, EA has encouraged me to donate more, choose my donations more effectively, and has improved my work significantly, all of which have contributed to the amount of good I enact on the world.
I can confirm as an attendee that this conference was extremely well-run, thoughtful, and exciting! I saw so many conversations and connections being made. It’s a shame that African advocates have been underfunded and under-resourced for so long, given their exceptional drive and skills. However, I am hopeful that conferences like these can spark positive change! Thanks to Aurelia and AVA for this great event!

Hi Martijn! I completely agree about cost-effectiveness analysis. This wasn’t part of the original research question, but I am hoping to look into that in a Stage II analysis later this year or early next year, pending funding. That would give even more helpful data to the community.
Regarding the RCT, here is a link to the original resource: Impact of 10 Weeks to Vegan. Something to keep in mind is that the sample was people who were already thinking about veganism somewhat (analogous to the contemplating stage of the TTM: Social & Psychological Barriers to Veganism—Bryant Research). Therefore, we need to keep in mind that certain interventions are more likely to work on individuals at different stages in the pipeline (another research study I’m interested in conducting).

Great data and summary! I agree that we need to normalize funding for MEL from the jump for orgs young and old. 10% seems like a great starting point
