IIRC studies show itās easier to motivate people to give more than to shift existing donations.
How sure are you are right and the other EA (who has also likely thought carefully about their donations) is wrong, though?
Iām much more confident that I will increase the impact of someoneās donation /ā spending if they are not in EA, rather than being too convinced of my own opinion and causing harm (by negative side effects, opportunity costs or lowering the value of their donation).

Iād also like to point out that the Effektiv Spenden co-working office (TEAMWORK) is a place where many EAs work and is available for EA meetups and events outside of office hours. The impact of this is difficult to quantify, but potentially significant and not accounted for when looking at donations alone.
