I tried to estimate how many “average-earning” people donating 10% of their income would match Sam Bankman-Fried’s $24 billion pledged.
My estimation amounts to 70,000 people (laid out here, please comment if you disagree with an assumption).
This may sound disencouraging at first. However, that is also the amount of inhabitants in a small city or larger town in Germany. Envisioning all these happy folks matching the donating power of SBF cheers me up.

However, I am inquiring about estimations on “returns on giving” to philantropic funds that could be compared to “returns on investment” for conventional stock or index funds.
