I agree that most criticism of EA as a movement/philosophy are often baseless, but recently I’ve begun to lose faith in the community as an EA myself. What are your thoughts on criticisms of EAs rather than EA?

Beyond the issue of figuring out the market cap, what are your next steps? I’d be interested in seeing Zakat be redirected to effective charities while meeting the requirements for recipients.

My intention was to evaluate climate change as an x-risk, but I see what you mean about it being much more than that. I think the essay will benefit from additional comments on instead treating it as a current issue.
