My sense is (from the votes on this post) is that most of these reforms are not broadly popular. Which while it doesn’t undermine them in my opinion does create a contradiction for the authors.
The authors believe that the EA Forum is profoundly antidemocratic (e.g. because of the karma weighting and selection effects of who is on the forum), so I don’t think they would consider upvotes to be particularly strong evidence of democratic will.
