If we apply for funding after June 1st, how likely is it that we can get a response from the EA infrastructure fund by mid-August if we state that need in the application?
In the post âFunds and CEA are mergingâ, it was said:
EA Funds will be accepting and evaluating grant applications throughout the merger and spinout process, so you can continue to submit applications. [âŚ] Grant requests submitted to EA Funds after 9 May will not be processed until at least 1 August.â
Because it says that the applications will be evaluated continuously, I had interpreted âprocessingâ to mean the due diligence and payout, not evaluation. But in this post, I get the impression that the pause is more comprehensive because of
We likely wonât evaluate all applications by 1 June, but we will prioritize time-sensitive and promising applications and aim to complete evaluations for those before the pause
Hi Karla, your initial interpretation is correctâthe fund managers will still evaluate applications during the pause, but due diligence and payments wonât be processed until 1 August. âWe likely wonât evaluate all applications by 1 June, but we will prioritize time-sensitive and promising applications and aim to complete evaluations for those before the pauseâ refers to the fact that any applications not evaluated by 1 June wonât be processed until 1 August, not that they wonât be evaluated until 1 August.
However, I still canât give a concrete probability that youâll hear back by mid-August given that this is highly dependent on capacity constraints; make sure to note your time-sensitivity in your application, and the EAIF will make every effort to evaluate it expediently.

Thank you for the clarification Nicole!
