Apart from attempting to smear the researchers as racist, it seems their key argument is that while sperm counts appear to have fallen from towards the top to the bottom of the ‘normal’ range, they’re still within the range. But this ‘normal’ range is fairly arbitrary, and if the decline continues presumably we will go below the normal range in the future.
I don’t know if this subject is still of interest to you, but Scott wrote a detailed review of the subject here; he concluded with essentially a 50% probability that we are seeing significant declines.
