Supportive of anything that gets EA off of Facebook. But also, if it’s not broken, don’t fix it? The Facebook meme page is working—let it live in the wild, maybe.
What I’ve done so far is to have a bookmark that takes me straight to the meme page, but I haven’t scrolled on Facebook for more than 3 years. If most people were to just try to go in and out and have a quick five minute adventure on the FB meme page, they would just get sucked back in.
I think it’d be cool to have a closed-access meme page that isn’t tied to Facebook. I’m aware of at least one large tech company that has an entire team dedicated to supporting its internal meme page.
But as is usual for this kind of idea, there are many valuable/cool projects to do in EA, and dedicated talent is in short supply.
I find this very persuasive and I agree. Maybe this is evidence that there should be a public backlog of valuable/cool project ideas to do in EA. I can see people eventually volunteering to make an implementable eaforum meme page or meme archive that people can refer eachother to (maybe something over email, so people can start the day with ea concepts in entertaining form?)
I don’t know if we should have it on the forum as it would make it seem less credible. I like Electroswing’s suggestion of a subreddit.
Subforum!
I’d support it! I’ll pass it along to the team
Thank you!

There’s a popular plugin called Kill News Feed that helps, for anyone looking for something like this
I use News Feed Eradicator!
+1 for news feed eradicator—it’s what got me to stop scrolling on fb
What about a subreddit?

I think the monthly meme post worked pretty well if people actually posted memes to it.
Tomorrow there’ll be more of us!
