CSER Conference 2022: Call for Lightning Talks

These lightning talks will relate to the study and management of existential and global catastrophic risk and will take place on the afternoons (BST) of Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th of April 2022. Talks are welcome on any subject and in any style, so long as they are relevant to one or more of the conference themes which this year will be:

  • Future risks, and how we can study them;

  • Real catastrophes, and what we can learn from them; and

  • Global solutions, and how we can achieve them.

We ask that all talks adhere to the Wittgenstein standard of lasting no longer than 7 minutes. If accepted for presentation, this will be your opportunity to highlight your research to the rest of the GCR/X-Risk community. We will then provide a virtual space where interested audience members can follow up with the speaker to ask questions and explore shared interests and potential collaborations. The talks (but not the follow-up discussion) will be recorded and lightly edited, and you will have the choice of whether they are published (through CSER’s channels and your own.)

If you’d like to take part in the Lightning talks, please complete the Google Form below. Submission deadline: 15 November 2021.
