EA Virtual Programs is starting a new pilot Biosecurity Book Club
In this reading group, we will meet weekly to read and discuss the book Biosecurity Dilemmas, a book that has insights into the important trade-offs for biosecurity professionals, policy makers, researchers, and more.
Project based, collaborative learning
We will also work on and complete short biosecurity related projects, either individually or in small groups, with the guidance and support of facilitators. We hope these projects will be both useful for the general EA community and for the individual to test their fit in some way. Some potential examples include a book review/summary, developing research ideas, a policy brief, and writing a syllabus for the next reading groups.
This program is designed for anyone working in or interested in working in the area of biosecurity or pandemic prevention. No background knowledge is required. Please feel free to share with anyone you know who might be interested! We are keeping the pilot round small, so apply quickly; applications close soon.
Time Commitment:
3-5 hours per week, for 7-8 weeks.
Deadline to Apply: October 2nd
Note: Minors are not permitted to join this program at this stage.
