I’m going to facilitate a Double Crux workshop at an animal welfare volunteer training day. If you’re not familiar with Double Crux, then here’s a blog post about it. Very briefly, it’s a method for resolving/understanding disagreements and consists of steps such as defining terms, determining premises, seeking crucial considerations, etc.
I’m looking for topic ideas of disagreements in the area of animal welfare. What are some topics where you think currently the largest disagreements are? My current guesses are these, for instance:
Clean meat vs alternative meat products
Whether promoting vegan diets is the most effective intervention
What the moral difference of non-human animals vs humans is
Pragmatic vs abolitionist approaches
Do you have any ideas to share?
There’s a bunch listed on this Sentience Institute page.
