EA should engage more with existing academic research in fields such as such as Disaster Risk Reduction, Futures Studies, and Science and Technology Studies
I’d recommend splitting these up into different answers, for scoring. I imagine this community is much more interested in some of these groups than others.

Ways of engaging #2: proactively offering funding experts from respective fields to work on EA relevant topics
Ways of engaging #1: literature reviews and introductions of each field for an EA audience.
And put them on the forum wiki.
Ways of engaging #4: making a database of experts in fields who are happy to review papers and reports from EAs
Ways of engaging #5: prioritise expertise over value alignment during hiring (for a subset of jobs).
...and updated research on climate risk.
