[Link] Reading the EA Forum; audio content

Link: https://anchor.fm/david-reinstein/

I wanted some more EA audio content for those long drives/walks/chores, with ‘just the substance, not much filler’ and ‘getting at the most important and cutting-edge topics and discussions’.

Thus, I’m:

  • reading EA forum posts (of interest to me)

  • and comments

  • and reading some links

  • and adding some comments/thoughts of my own HERE (podcast ‘found in the struce’ available on all platforms).

Feedback welcome, of course. Worth continuing? Any suggestions for what and how to read (& comment perhaps).

So far, I’ve read+:

  1. “Why I’ve come to think global priorities research is even more important than I thought” by @bentodd pod-reading

  2. “The case of the missing cause prioritisation research” by @weeatquince pod-reading

  3. Intervention Report: Charter Cities pod-reading 1 and pod-reading-2

  4. “Why scientific research is less effective in producing value than it could be: a mapping” by @ctilli pod-reading

  5. “Opinion: Digital marketing is under-utilized in EA” pod-reading by @JSWinchel

(Disclaimer: the opinions expressed on the podcast are not necessarily the opinions of Rethink Priorities, and I am not doing it in my official capacity at RP, it’s my own initiative.)

I think this will help people who have limited screen time get more from the EA Forum. True, there are also good ‘text to speech’ digitizers. Still, I think a human reading brings more out, and is probably worth the time invested if it’s something of interest to multiple listeners. And the person doing the reading also gets something out of it, for maybe not that much additional time cost.

I’d like to encourage others to also narrate/record forum posts. Any takers?
