StrongMinds is a non-profit that treats depression in women and adolescents in low-income communities in sub-Saharan Africa.

In 2021, the Happier Lives Institute published an analysis of StrongMinds, estimating that the organization was 12 times more cost-effective than GiveDirectly, as measured by subjective wellbeing.[1] In a follow-up, prompted by criticism from Alexander Berger, [2] HLI revised the figure, estimating that Strong Minds was 9 times more cost-effective than GiveDirectly.[3]
