Future of Life Award

Every year, FLI awards a prize, named the Future of Life Award, to an individual judged to have had an extraordinary positive social impact but whose contributions are not widely recognized. As of May 2021, five people have been so honored: Vasili Arkhipov (2017), Stanislav Petrov (2018), Matthew Meselson (2019), and Viktor Zhdanov and William Folge (2020) (Future of Life Institute 2021).
