Philosophy is the systematized investigation of the most general and abstract features of the world.

In effective altruism, discussions often focus on moral philosophy in particular.

Philosophy as a career

80,000 Hours’ shallow profile rates philosophy a “sometimes recommended” career, especially for its potential to do research in a variety of neglected areas and its potential for advocacy through teaching or public engagement.[1]
